The Yue Opera “The Legend of Zhen Huan” is adapted from a popular novel and television dramas. It vividly expresses the emotional experience of royal brothers competing for Zhen Huan’s favor during the Han and Tang Dynasties. It also expresses Zhen Huan’s royal love and everlasting friendship.
“The twisted Love” tells the story of the dying emperor admitted his unforgettable love for Zhen Huan and the pain and helplessness of having put his personal emotions under the throne even though he was the king of the country. Zhen Huan confessed the truth about her love with the emperor’s brother and give birth to the prince. The emperor passed away in despair, leaving Zhen Huan with mixed feelings.
